Fred Grandy, the former "Love Boat" star who served several terms in Congress before landing a gig as a radio host, resigned from his show this week after he was pressured to stop talking so much about radical Islam, his wife, Catherine, told FoxNews.com.
Catherine Mann-Grandy, who spoke with FoxNews.com extensively about the details of their split with WMAL management, confirmed that the couple's critical commentary on radical Islam was the driving factor behind Grandy's resignation.
"You're not allowed to talk about what's happening in your country," she said.
Fred Grandy, best known for his role as Gopher in "The Love Boat," had been on air as a host at Washington, D.C.'s WMAL since 2003. He worked most recently as host of "The Grandy Group" -- his wife made regular appearances on that show under the nickname "Mrs. Fred."
But while both of them started devoting more and more segments to the subject of Muslim influence in America over the past year, it was Catherine's comments that apparently led to an ultimatum.
Mann-Grandy, who did a regular segment called "domestic terrorism 101," hit a string of topics on their show last Friday. Though the segment was taken off the radio's site, she described it. She said that, on air, she quoted a rabbi who compared radical Muslims to Nazis, complained that President Obama was not doing enough to help Israel, warned that "Shariah-compliant" individuals work in the government and discussed several other Islam-related topics.
Perhaps sensing she might have stepped over a line, she warned on air about the possibility that she might not return the following week.
Sure enough, she didn't.
Mann-Grandy said her husband told her Tuesday that management told him she could no longer be on the show. Further, she said her husband was told to "really tone it down on the Islam stuff."
In response, Fred Grandy resigned.

Professor Jonathan Haidt is concerned that lack of conservatives in social psychology is an indication of liberal groupthink shutting out valuable perspectives ...
I am not concerned about the underrepresentation of conservatives in social psychology, just as I am not concerned about the underrepresentation of women or minorities in any occupation. As I said in my talk, "there are many reasons why conservatives would be underrepresented in social psychology, and most of them have nothing to do with discrimination or hostile climate." I am concerned about two things: First:Discrimination. If conservatives, women, or minority group members are being discriminated against, it is wrong and it should stop. And that includes the creation of hostile climates, which discourage students from entering fields in the first place. Second, I'm concerned about the absence of valuable perspectives from occupations that need multiple perspectives. When a group with a unique perspective drops below, say 5%, the majority group may begin to openly espouse its sacred values, create a moral forcefield, and then actively discriminate against the minority group, which now shrinks even further or retreats to the closet. This is what (I claim) has happened in social psychology (and in many academic fields). Most groups and institutions don't need moral diversity. Diversity disrupts group cohesion and effectiveness. But in science, our goal is not cohesion, it is finding the truth, and if moral diversity will help us to disrupt the forcefield and shut down groupthink, then it will help us to do better science. This is why I called for affirmative action for conservatives in social psychology.
Now, you've probably already guessed what happens next. Another professor accuses Haidt of professional misconduct:
I suspect that Haidt is either an incompetent psychologist (not likely) or is disingenuously saying the sort of things controversial enough to get him in the New York Times (more likely).
I have greatly enjoyed our debate. You assert that I “got upset” by your initial post, and you refer to my “outrage” at your accusations. But in fact I was delighted by them. I am an intuitionist. I am building an extended argument that reasoning, when not informed by broad understanding and cultivated intuitions, is an unreliable tool for finding truth. We can’t win or end our wars, balance our budgets or control our borders. Great states like California and Illinois appear about to go belly-up. The U.S. government is running a third straight deficit of near 10 percent of our entire economy. We used our stimulus money to save government jobs. They used theirs for bullet trains.
Craig Bodeker: What are some of the most dangerous myths in American society today?
Jared Taylor: ... There's a whole host of beliefs in the United States today that I would categorise as so obviously wrong and stupid that only very, very intelligent people could persuade themselves that they're true. And one of them is the idea that diversity is a great gift for America. Diversity, of the kind we're all supposed to be celebrating, whether it's religious, or racial, or linguistic, or cultural - all of that - they are sources of tension and conflict, all around the world wherever you look. People are slaughtering each other with great diligence because diverse people are trying to share the same territory. And for us to think that that's a strength for the United States it's completely cuckoo...
Craig Bodeker: What are the policy consequences of believing in these myths?
Jared Taylor: Well, the whole notion of diversity, the notion that if you fill the United States with people as unlike each other as possible, that is somehow going to produce a great nation? That's very dangerous and it is particularly unfortunate for whites - the people who built and established this nation. Whites are supposed to celebrate diversity. What does that mean? They're supposed to celebrate their dwindling numbers and their dwindling influence. It's not as though you can fill the country with Haitians and Guatemalans and turn them into the moral heirs of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. It's simply not going to happen.
... the idea that you can get all these people from around the world and hold hands and sing kumbaya and live happily ever after? Crazy, and it will reduce whites to a minority. Frankly, I don't want to be a minority. I don't want my grandchildren to be a minority. So, the implications are bad for the country as a whole, because diversity is a source of conflict, and they're particularly bad for whites because they will be reduced to a minority in which they are likely to be a despised remnant. All of this story about how whites oppressed the third world, how they oppressed and enslaved blacks, they're not going to stop talking about that, not at all. No, I won't want to be here a hundred years from now if current trends continue.
Craig Bodeker: Are you saying that when whites become a minority, they might be treated differently?
Jared Taylor: ... this may be a very unfashionable thing to say but if you look at American history of the last 50 years, whites have treated minorities with the kind of munificence and a kind of generosity that is unprecedented in the history of the world. Whites are still the majority in this country and yet whites have instituted institutions that discriminate against their own people... And this kind of unfairness... Blacks and Hispanics vote in overwhelming numbers to keep those preferences... Well when they become a majority do you think they're suddenly going to suddenly think "gee, this is just not fair to those wicked white racists who oppressed us all those hundreds of years"?
No, once they become a majority, what's going to happen to the white minority? ... If I were expecting the coming non-white majority to treat whites the way whites have treated non-whites for the last 50 years I'd say "go right ahead" ... not going to happen.
Craig Bodeker: Care to predict the future for whites?
Jared Taylor: ... there are really two possibilities. If whites continue to sleepwalk in this brow-beaten bamboozled state in which they think that anything that they do to preserve a white a majority or to promote their own interests, if they continue to think that that's somehow wrong, then the United States will become like Brazil. It'll be a nation in which there's a small number of people who live in gated communities and they helicopter from their gated communities to their gated swim clubs and to their gated schools, while the rest of the brown and black mass below is seething and bubbling. I can imagine the United States turning into a Brazil of that kind.
On the other hand, if whites wake up to the fact that they face a real crisis, that their civilisation, their continuation as a people, a distinct people with a distinct culture - that existence is at stake - they may do something about that, and preserve at least part of the United States or some system in which they can affirm themselves as a majority people and culture.
I think it is one of those two, and I think you can imagine which is the one that I would prefer for the United States. I don't want my descendants to be living in a Brazil. I want them to be living in some country in which they can be proud of their ancestors, proud of their culture, and that they live in a society which reflects that culture, not some crazy mishmash where everything from all around the world has come in a mutually uncomprehending, perpetually hostile state. Which is what I think we will end up with unless whites wake up.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Elect Lamar Smith, R-Texas, said the killing of Brian A. Terry in southern Arizona late Tuesday should serve as wake-up call to President Obama and his administration.
"The Obama administration’s lax enforcement of immigration laws, coupled with calls for mass amnesty, only encourage more illegal immigration," Smith said in a statement released Wednesday. "Our border remains porous and the Obama administration has done nothing to stop the steady flow of human and drug smuggling from Mexico." ...

Rep. Luis Gutierrez is a hero to many Hispanics. He says he won't change his methods, no matter who gets irritated...
Gutierrez, 56, is the most passionate, tireless, and nettlesome voice in Congress on immigration matters. He's a constant presence at rallies and on TV, defending the undocumented and railing against xenophobia. It's no surprise that a recent Pew Hispanic Center survey ranked him the second-most-important Latino leader in the country, after Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. "He's as close as the Latino community has to a Martin Luther King figure," says Frank Sharry, founder of the pro-immigrant group America's Voice. Yet Gutierrez's tactics are controversial. While many admire his tenacity and credit him with keeping immigration reform alive, others, including members of the Obama administration, believe his confrontational style can be counterproductive. He sees things more simply. "I have only one loyalty," he says, "and that's to the immigrant community."
Says it all, doesn't it? Gutierrez, according to the below Newsweek article, is the most prominent and influential Hispanic elected official in the country and a hero to many Hispanics. And this emblematic Hispanic proudly declares that his only loyalty is to the immigrant, i.e., the Hispanic, community. Since Gutierrez, to use Eric Voegelin's term, existentially represents Hispanics, and since Gutierrez states openly that he is only loyal to Hispanics, not to non-Hispanic Americans, and not to the United States, we can fairly say that Hispanics generally, or at least a very large number of them, have no loyalty to the United States. They are here as a self-consciously and explicitly different people, seeking to extract from America what goods they can, just as any invading people does to the people they are invading.
They know what they're about. But we refuse to look. They are acting as a people. We refuse even to form a distant thought of ourselves as a people. They are seeking to gain power and other advantages for themselves at our expense. We, by our own choice and decision, don't even exist, let alone bother to defend ourselves.
Such is the universal stance of white Western peoples today toward the nonwhite peoples whom they have invited into their midst. It is a posture leading to the extinction of the white world and everything it has created and everything it has been. We as a race and as a civilization will continue on that path, until we stop continuing on it.

TONY JONES: Well it has strategic implications as well as economic ones, and I know that you're actually concerned about this and what happens when China or if China starts to feel hemmed in by strategic adversaries?
PAUL KEATING: Yeah.
Well, you might remember, Tony, I put together with Bill Clinton the APEC Leaders' Meeting in 1992. That was 18 years ago.
Because I could see China coming, in a sense, then and the key things was to have a structure to receive it in.
In other words, I thought it was important that we do not do to China what Russia, Britain and France did to Germany at the end of the 19th Century. Essentially, they cavilled at Bismarck’s creation and that sort of view of illegitimacy played its role in bringing on the First World War and of course the Second World War.
So we had two world wars over the status of Germany. And I never believed we should have a third world war over the status of China.
TONY JONES: Is that a genuine possibility, and are you talking about a kind of Chinese version of living space, or lebensraum, as the Germans called it?
PAUL KEATING: No, I don't think it's likely to happen. Because China, you know, has joined the World Trade Organisation, it's part of the G7.
But China will need some strategic space. Just like all great rising powers are always feared, they demand - great powers demand some strategic space. So the United States made a huge mistake with Russia at the end of the Cold War.
There's Gorbachev magnanimously agreeing to a united Germany in NATO. Six years later, the United States has Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic in NATO up to the Russian border.
President Obama is now seeking to change that, to give the Russians a better stake in the game. Well, what we do for the Russians, which I certainly approve of, we have to do for the Chinese. That is, China I don't think is an expansionist power, but it is a great power.
I mean, we've had this sort of unusual situation in the world for 60 years where the second economic power in the world has been a strategic client of the first economic power. This has never happened in history. This is Japan and the United States.
Well, the second economic power in the world today, China, will definitely not be a strategic client of the first economic power, the United States.
So we're going to have a change of the world. We're going to go back to the world the way it used to be. The world is fundamentally anarchic. It was anarchic, is anarchic. The peace we've had for 60 or 70 years has been highly unusual - 65 years. So, we're going to be in a more complex, trickier world, but a better world.

Question: what is this total alien doing in the United States? Answer: he's here solely as a result of the liberal principle that all Americans now embrace or accede to, and that none questions: that America should not discriminate against anyone when admitting immigrants into this country, but treat all nationalities, religions, cultures, and races the same.
I'm looking at this country... and what's happened in terms of respect. I have many people from China that I do business with, they laugh at us, they feel we're fools.
You know they're getting away with absolute murder, they're making the products that we used to make in this country, they're making them in China. We're rebuilding China...
I'd tax China, they manipulate the currency, by manipulating the currency it's very hard to compete with China...
If we tax China we'd pay off that debt very quickly...
It's us, we have the cards because we're the ones who are spending all this money in China … I've had bankers over the years, I don't think they have the cards.

TRUMP: Obviously the word is "jobs." How do you get jobs? I hear so many people talking so many different things. The problem is our jobs have left this country. We are making our products in China and in other places.
And what the politicians have done to this country, they should be ashamed of themselves. The other day I was watching "60 Minutes" I see a place, Newton, Iowa, beautiful place, beautiful people they lost Maytag. The jobs went to Mexico, most of the jobs to Mexico.
I'm saying to myself, isn't that a shame. Here you have this beautiful community with these incredible people and the jobs went to Mexico.
So the problem with this country is between China and other places, we just don't make product any more. We do health care here, but that's not the kind of product I'm talking about. I'm talking about where you really make product. If I build a building many of the materials and things I get are made in China. It is very, very sad...
We are rebuilding China. Our economy is just getting killed. And you look at China it is going through the roof. A friend of mine went to a pretty much new city in China. They said unbelievable the airport and everything else. They come back to LaGuardia. They said it is like coming into a third world country. It is horrible what has happened.

I would tax Chinese products. People say that's not free trade. What is free trade when they have billions and billions of dollars of surplus over us? So we don't want free trade with people that are ripping us.

TRUMP: It's amazing. I listen to your show and other shows. I listen to certain politicians, who I know. I know most all of them. They are so different when they are talking to me and when I see them on television. And they don't bring up the world. They are not bringing up the world. They are saying yes, we've got to create more jobs. They never say how.
We've got to create more jobs. Oh, yes, they are all moving to Mexico, China. They don't say we got to stop that... Why aren't we making toys in Alabama and in North Carolina? ...
The fact is we should be making these things, which, by the way, are also in many cases unsafe with the lead poisoning and the paint poisoning because the standards are different -- why aren't we making toys in this country for our children? ...
And perhaps we have to say, guess what folks, you can buy toys from China, you are going to pay a 25 percent tax. And all of a sudden you are going to have things being made in this country. Nobody ever mentions it.
... I had people that I know in China, because I do a lot of business with the Chinese ... They cannot believe what they are getting an way with. They tell me at dinner, "Donald, we cannot believe that we're able to get away with this." They tell me that privately... they can't believe how stupid our representatives are, let me put it nicely. I don't get it. I really don't get it, unless they are just not smart. Whenever I go -- when I do a show like yours and bring up this, I get hundreds of letters saying "Thank you, Mr. Trump." And I don't see the politicians pick it up. It's hard to believe.

Mr. Obama lamented the "search for drama" and disagreement at international summit meetings. If there is a reason for the discord, he said, it is because emerging powers are no longer satisfied with letting the United States take the lead.
"We are a very large, very wealthy, very powerful country," Mr. Obama said. "We have had outsized influence over world affairs for a century now. And you are now seeing a situation in which a whole host of other countries are doing very well and coming into their own, and naturally they are going to be more assertive in terms of their interests and ideas. And that's a healthy thing."

The president again casually confirmed his belief in the decline of America's "outsized" influence in world affairs, noting, "We are now seeing a situation where a whole host of other countries are doing well and coming into their own and naturally they're going to be more assertive." The president thinks this greater assertiveness is "a healthy thing" but did not elaborate for whom it was healthy - certainly not the United States. For some inexplicable reason, Mr. Obama welcomes the decline of America's role on the international stage. It is his most notable accomplishment.
The lesson is that liberal U.S. presidents never learn their lesson. As liberals, they believe that America has too much influence and power, and that this has created resentment toward us on the part of other nations, and that therefore progress in international relations requires that America's influence and power be reduced. But as U.S. presidents, they seek to influence world events, and if America's influence and power has been lessened--if, indeed, the liberal U.S. presidents themselves insist on America's lessened influence, how can they, uh, have any influence?
It's a contradiction that liberals can never resolve. Liberalism posits equality as the most important of all values. But equality is incompatible with power, because power by its very nature is unequal, and requires inequality.

May whites have a racial identity? Are they allowed to be glad they are white or to think about what is good for them as a group?
Shelby Steele, a black scholar at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University doesn’t say “no”; he says “hell no”.
“[B]eyond an identity that apologizes for white supremacy, absolutely no white identity is permissible. In fact, if there is a white racial identity today it would have to be white guilt—a shared, even unifying, lack of racial moral authority.”
Dr. Steele continues: “Black children today are hammered with the idea of racial identity and pride, yet racial pride in whites constitutes a grave evil. Say ‘I’m white and I’m proud’ and you are a Nazi.”
Dr. Steele means all whites everywhere: “Today’s whites, the world over, cannot openly have a racial identity.”

As an immigration patriot, I obviously sympathize with those who oppose the construction of the Cordoba House Mosque near the World Trade Center. Only the most recalcitrant globalist cannot see what an extraordinary insult this is to the victims of September 11th and their families.
Unlike many of those who support the mosque’s construction, I was actually in Manhattan on September 11th. And while I was not close enough to the Twin Towers to be in any danger, I was close enough to see them fall with my own eyes.
It’s hard to describe the collective sense of dread we all felt that day. You just had to be there.
Nevertheless, I am actually relieved that a mosque is being built near the World Trade Center. Let me tell you why:
Lost in the debate over the Cordoba House Mosque is the fact that New York City now has a larger Muslim population than London, Paris or any city in Western Europe. There are over 800,000 Muslims living in New York and over 100 mosques—some estimates are much higher.
There are also an incalculable number of Muslim prayer rooms or “musallas” in the city, located in the backrooms and basements of restaurants, warehouses, and offices buildings. There was even a musalla on the 17th floor of Tower One...
Our response to 9-11 suddenly became about defeating our enemies “over there” in the Middle East.
But our enemies are not over there. They are here—and in greater numbers than ever before because we still allow them to come.
In the meantime, sharia law continues to inch its icecap over New York City. Muslim activists have been lobbying Wall Street to practice sharia-compliant finance. They have been pushing the public schools to recognize their holy days. Whenever a mosque or musalla opens in the city, they try to muscle any liquor stores or bars out of the neighborhood. You get the picture.
The real insult to the victims of 9-11 is not that a mosque is being built near the spot where they died—it is that Muslim immigration continues to flow into the city and country most of them called home.
Moreover, even if opponents of the Cordoba House Mosque successfully prevented it from being built by Ground Zero, it will probably still be built a short distance away. What kind of victory is that?
If we really gave a damn about the victims of 9-11, we would immediately prohibit all Muslim immigration. But that isn’t going to happen unless people begin to demand it.
Given that most of our post-American leaders in New York and beyond support the Cordoba House Mosque, there appears to be nothing that can be done to stop it.
My hope, then, is that the mosque’s construction will help to reignite the instinct of self-preservation that is so essential if the country is to avoid having a Muslim problem on a scale like that of Western Europe.
While the instinct of self-preservation remains sadly dormant among our elites, it still burns within the rest of us. We have seen it in the number of people who already oppose the Cordoba House Mosque. We have all seen it in the thousands of outraged citizens who crashed the Senate switchboard to oppose another amnesty...
The construction of the Cordoba House Mosque will hopefully awaken Americans to the reality that our enemies are not “over there”.
They are already here, and living among us; they are swelling in strength and size, and right now, they appear to be winning.
Well that's a sad admission that our leadership is so lacking that we have to rely on highly visible Islamisation to motivate our own defence. But he has a point.
What should our response to Muslim immigration be? Obviously the high Muslim birthrate amounts to a colonisation force which has to be stopped. As unpalatable as that is, there is no getting around it. So, that first means ending Muslim immigration. And then, secondly, there are various options for halting the spread of the local Muslim population such as: offering incentives for Muslims to voluntarily leave; suppressing their freedoms may encourage some to leave e.g. by banning burkas, mosques, headscarfs, minarets; or separating ourselves from the local Muslims by some form of internal separation or secession.
So, the solution has to be demographic. And until we have political representation that acknowledges the need for a demographic solution, I agree with Matthew Richer: we should build the mosque. Likewise, we should not ban the burka. We should not help Islam to blend in. We should let it remain highly visible. Only once there is a collective will to act against the demographics should we consider banning mosques. Prematurely banning mosques and burkas only leads to a false sense of security, while the demographics continue to spread. And, as we see in Turkey, Kemalist suppression of Islam is eventually defeated by demographics. Demography is destiny.

"I had some real concerns with us making that leap and making a remark like that publicly," Bradshaw told The Des Moines Register in an Aug. 26 interview. "That's a huge statement that, quite frankly, can provoke emotions on both sides of the issue. People are very sensitive to remarks like that, so I had some real grave concerns about us stepping out and I wanted to make certain that we were right to message the State Fair events that way."
